Archives Work: Theory and Practice (AWTP)  (Print ISSN: -; Online ISSN: - ) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Hong Kong Information Education Publishing Company Limited. AWTP publishes twelve issues each year in  Chinese. 

Scope and Topics 

Archives Work: Theory and Practice (AWTP)  is committed to advancing research on the integration of archival theory and practice, and to exploring the theoretical, methodological, and practical foundations of this field. It encompasses a wide and in-depth range of topics, including but not limited to: basic theories of archival science; archival undertaking management; archival policies and regulations; archival acquisition and arrangement; archival appraisal and disposition; archival retrieval and user services; archival preservation techniques; specialized archives management; archival compilation and publication; archival education; electronic records and digital archives management; archival datafication and data governance; artificial intelligence and smart archives; digital memory and cultural heritage preservation; archival governance system and modernization; health archives and livelihood archives; business archives and knowledge management; blockchain and archival trust; as well as pedagogical exploration and disciplinary development in archival science. The journal advocates an interdisciplinary research perspective and adheres to international academic standards. It does not establish fixed sections in advance and welcomes scholarly contributions addressing the above themes (without being limited to them). In order to reflect ongoing academic developments in a timely manner, the journal also accepts, on a rolling basis, interviews with leading scholars and academic book reviews in the field of archival work theory and practice. The format and stylistic requirements for such submissions are the same as those for research articles.

Open Access Policy

AWTP is a fully open access journal that provides immediate and permanent free access to all published content for all users worldwide without requiring any article processing charges (APCs) or subscription fees. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing unrestricted sharing, distribution, and reuse with proper attribution. Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal publishing rights. We support responsible scholarly sharing by permitting authors to deposit preprints in any repository without embargo and postprints immediately upon publication. This sustainable model maintains the highest standards of peer review and editorial quality while eliminating financial barriers to knowledge dissemination.

《档案工作理论与实践》既涵盖档案学的传统核心领域，如档案学基础理论、档案事业管理、档案政策与法规、档案收集与整理、档案鉴定与销毁、档案检索与利用服务、档案保护技术、专门档案管理、档案编研与出版、档案教育等，同时也高度关注交叉与前沿领域，包括电子文件与数字档案管理、档案数据化与数据治理、人工智能与智慧档案、数字记忆与文化遗产保护、档案治理体系与现代化、健康档案与民生档案、企业档案与知识管理、区块链与档案信任等。

《档案工作理论与实践》实行同行评议制度，仅接受中文稿件。暂定半年刊，一年出版12期。本刊将于2026年6月出版第1期。
